How to ship a car cross-country, and how much will it cost?

Don't think this one has been touched on yet... has anyone shipped a car cross country? Who did you use and how much can you expect it to cost? Not sure where to even start looking and get pricing but I figured this might be helpful to some in the future...
TIA
bryan

You might want to look on ebay motors, they would probably have some info on it. This is something I should look into since I really need to unload my restored 1975 Malibu that no one in this area of the country seems to want....

how nice is the car? Exotic car carriers are super nice and indoors.

Hey, my Uncle does this in his spare time. He takes cars from the east coast to the west coast. If it's something you need done, LMK, he lives in New Mexico.

You shoulda saw the Skyline he brought to my house. That thing was SUPER fun to drive.

Bryan, this is one of the best shippers you can use...

http://www.dasautoshippers.com/

You can get a quote from them. It was going to cost me about $900 to ship my cobra from Missouri to PA.

You can also choose a faster then standard delivery (but that cost more) as well as an enclosed carrier (also costs more). Cost is also slightly dependent on the car, and value of.

We've shipped the M5 from coast to coast serveral times. It noramlly runs about 1000-1200$

I've also shipped cars from the east coast to here in the midwest, that normally runs from 400-600$

dude I'm pretty much an expert on this. I've shipped my car(s) cross country twice ( philly to seattle and seattle to philly )

to seattle from here ran me $1200 and the other way was $1100, that was just for a no-frills open trailor and took about 2 weeks. i didn't have any problems other than the fact that the car has about an eight inch layer of dirt all over it

How do they pronounce that exactly lol. We used to get stuff shipped on those trucks at my old job all the time and it just makes me laugh.

Is it A DOOEY PILE?

Train was about to be my input. My brother and I looked into it for a 95 Rx7 a year ago. Do a search for the "Autotrain" it leaves near Philly and is used to move allot of dealer cars back and forth through out the country. But other than that they do allot of personal as well.
