Points on your license

Do points transfer between Pa and Va? I was pulled over in Va and the statey wrote it up as reckless driving for being clocked at 99 in a 70mph zone. I know in Va that is 6 points but can that transfer to my Pa license?

PA and VA are both members of the Drivers License Compact which means they both report to each other on your moving violations. HOWEVER, Penndot doesn't assess points for minor violations such as speeding, red light violations, stop sign violations etc that occur out of state. Another however is that they are both also part of the Non-Resident Violator Compact so if you fail to respond the the citation your PA license can be suspended indefinitely. For a reckless driving charge im not sure how Penndot will handle that out of state violation, best bet is to call them and ask them exactly what the deal is.
