09 Lexus IS-F - Fox Marketing/Artisan

This year I needed to really "bring it" to SEMA Show 2008. For the last two years I did cars for the Nissan booth and just needed to step the game up a bit. So, this year I wanted to work with Lexus and have something in there booth. The only way this is going to happen is to show them a rendering of my design for there IS-F. I called up my boy Joshua and he put it down for me. I Emailed over to Lexus and they where all about it which was cool for sure. Next I called up Artisan to see if there where down to make it fast (that I NEED) and I wanted it around 600hp also from 419hp factory. Artisan said they would make it haul, but needed a car to work on.

I decided to buy my car from a Cali dealer because I just couldn't find one here in PA anywhere. I purchased the car on June 20 and next I needed to get it shipped to the right side of the US.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it damn it...haha. At any rate, here is how it all has went down so far with this build.

July 7, 2008

Reliable calls me at like 7am and wakes me up!! "Hey, I'm on 30 and I have your car, where you want me to go?" I'm still like half asleep and tell the driver to just take it over to the Galleria Mall and drop it there. I head over and this is what I see.

After he unloads the IS-F I take my tired butt over to Impressive Signs to get my name put on it and Artisan's.

July 8, 2008

I call up Dave Powell from Powell Customs in Allentown, PA. and tell him I'm on the way up to drop off the car. I love Dave's fiberglass work, he is the man at that for sure. What I love about Dave as he can see my vision and put it down for me. He has a copy of my rendering and tells me it will be a month and I can pick up the car. Here are some shots of it during the month he had it building the kit.

I drive to CARS to pick up my BASF Glasurit Paint products to deliver to Powell Customs to spray my IS-F. I decided to use BASF Glasurit Paint because every high end car like Maybach, Bentley, MB, comes with this paint from the factory. It's not as expensive as you think it is, but Glasurit is 2 times better then PPG, or Dupont has period. I will only put the best on a car I build, it is my name on the line here.

Aug 7, 2008

I show up at Powell Customs again to take some shots of it before he paints it. Just wanted to make sure everything I want done is done and it was. Here are some shots right before paint.

Aug 12, 2008

I show up at Dave Powell Customs at like 11pm and need to have this car DONE by tomorrow to so I can roll in the Toyo Tires booth at NHRA Toyo Tires Nationals at Maple Grove this weekend. I end up leaving at 2am as they where wet sanding and buffing the car.

Aug 13, 2008

I get a set of Eibach Spring that was suppose to lower the car 1.2 inch's. I have them next day shipped and take them into Mugsy's Repair in York to install at 9:30am. They lower the car and put on the rack for me. What a joke those spring where, it lowers the car .25 inch's, THAT'S IT!! I'm pissed to say the least but what can I do right?? I leave Mugsy's at 10:30am and off to Impressive Signs I go.

I drive down the road to Impressive Signs and they handle the stickers I need for the car. Here are some shot's I take outside a 3pm when they get done with the IS-F.

Exterior Mods:

BASF Glasurit La Mas Sunset Paint
BASF Glasurit Black Paint
Custom Front Bumper
Custom Rear Flare - 3 inch's on each side
Custom Side Skirts
Custom Rear Bumper

Wheels & Tires
Front:
20x9.5 iForged Imola (Anthersite Center w/ Chrome Lip)
255/35/20 Toyo Proxes T1R

Rear:
20x11.5 iForged Imola (Anthersite Center w/ Chrome Lip)
305/30/20 Toyo Proxes T1R

I rolled over to my building a shoot a picture of the Fox Marketing Cars outside my place ready to leave to go to NHRA Toyo Tires Nationals.

Me and boys from Fox roll the Lexus and cars up to Maple Grove Speedway to drop them off which is like a 45 minute drive from York which isn't to bad at all.

Next Step: Goes to Auto Sun Roof to put in a Roof and then tint it. Sept 8, Goes to Artisan Performance in Houston, TX for the new Exhaust, Turbo Kit, pulley, to put over 600hp!!

I thought the Focus was sweet looking when built it last year, but the IS-F is just pure pr0n. The color looks great and I'm surprised to say the exhuast tips looks really nice with the car. Another sweet ride!

Looks awesome! I really like the wheels/tires and the paint. The only thing I don't like about the IS-F is those exhaust tips, as they just don't do it for me.

thats an awesome car! it's a shame about those springs though.

I just love the fact that you could take a car like the IS-F and start cutting it up from day one! lol
